Hard to believe people are still insisting on using the manual files--which are meant strictly for archiving your copy of the game, should you desire to keep a final installable copy. I only use the manual files these days when a game's final patch has been made and no more are forthcoming. I use Galaxy for all installations and updates. Works great, and Galaxy has been out of beta for years. You can run all of your Galaxy installed games right from their own exes, just like you run the manual file installations, bypassing Galaxy completely. IE, Galaxy is not DRM--it will be nice when everyone becomes aware of these facts.

I also got the Patch #2 immediately after launching Galaxy today.

I wish I'd had an opportunity to discover this bug while playing co-op with an annoying friend - "Putting a dead character in a container and then yeeting that container into a chasm will no longer permanently destroy the character - they will now float around as a resurrectable Soul Echo as expected."

Note: Larian launcher no longer works on Windows 8.1 in my experience with Patch 2, can be launched from the executables however.

im on GOG and the launcher says there is no patch. Running the 4.1.1.3686210 version. Does someone has the same problem?

No update here for me. How does it differ from person to person? Is it regional? UK here.
