I don't own this game yet and was going to buy it from GOG. But after the countless horror stories about broken stand-alone installers from GOG lately I'm skeptical of buying any games from GOG. GOG Galaxy is not an alternative option thanks to requirements being above the many games we're trying to install.

I spent about 9 hours hoping to help an old friend try to install the latest Mac release 4.1.1.1224125 Patch5_HF3 EA only to find out the installer was broken.

Problem 1: The installer is failing with a error about incorrect permissions for the post install script and aborting. This is a common error with many new GOG installers including Tropico 6.

Problem 2: Even if you manually fix the permission error for the post install script yourself the data files won't be installed because it is using the wrong path. The correct path is /Data/ not /Contents/Data/

Games are supposed to be fun not a frustrating day in hell trying to fix a broken installer.
LOL

Just to be clear, the stand-alone installer comes from Gog not Larian and this forum is for game questions i.e, we can't fix it

your mate should open a ticket... just fyi the Wizardry 8 install error has been busted for more than 5 years but BG3 is a newer game so best of luck with it
