Whenever I launch, it tells me my video driver is out of date (windows upgrade says it's not) and that data is corrupted or mismatched (I followed Larians online suggestions to no avail).

More troubling, though is that my character cannot move unless I click on an interactive object. Is this a new "feature"?

When I tried posting in the Larian forums, my email address and password weren't found. When I tried resetting my password, it said my address/name was unknown. (I do get regular email notices from Larian.

So, I'm now on hotfix 4, do I have to wait until hotfix 20 to play?

And it is not available from GOG.

GoG fucked up the patch. It was up for a short period before they overwrote it with the old patch. It should be

This is annoying. GOG is breaking every patch for this game!!
See here they have removed the correct patch 4.1.1.3648072 and re-added the old broken patch 4.1.1.3645567. What kind of noobs are working on GOG?? First they took 4 days to add a patch, then installer was broken, so waiting another 2 days, then Larian already released a new patch, again waiting and now they broke it again!!! Shame on you GOG. How long now waiting again? Now is weekend and we have a broken version of BG3 because you are too stupid!!!

With 4 hotfixes in a row, it does not surprise me. These are not patches.

These are comparatively quick and dirty fixes. I would not expect things to be that reliable until the first actual patch is released.

1 without knowing your hardware or operating system we can't be sure one way or the other but my money is on Microsoft being wrong... the Windows upgrade will not offer the lastest drivers they pick one that is stable and say that will do you

2 sounds like an imput error which is your system not the game... if you are using V then try booting to DX11 instead

3 Larian accounts for Game is different to account for forums... as in a different server, team and location

4 are you using Galaxy... did you play the EA?

Thats hilarious, is this for Galaxy too? I had the installer bug a few days ago too.The correct patch was up there yesterday lol, anyway i turned off auto updates on galaxy just incase they fucked up again.

1) I managed to get rid of the video driver problem (by manually using the control panel's optional update feature). So, in some respect, you were correct)

2) using DX11, never heard of "v" (presume you mean Vulcan? before this game) ((and just rebooted the game after new driver and fiddling with mouse speed...no change...no movement.)

3) You may have hit on my problem there. I have a password, but as you imply it may only be for the site and not the forums.

4) Yes, I played with EA when it was first available,..don't remember having any problems moving my character. I deleted everything when I downloaded (and redownloaded and even Galaxied) the 'official' game.

After I calm down a bit (I'm also playing Divinity 2 and cursing every three seconds), I'll try uninstalling and redownloading

If you're annoyed by the driver update message just turn it off in the settings on the launcher. Click the gear on the bottom left of the launcher to bring it up.

before uninstalling and reinstalling try changing option from DX11 to Vulcan and see if that unlocks the mouse buttions to work

if it does then you can always switch back to Dx11... its the fact that you changed rendor tool [even just for 1 boot] which tends to unblock things

Considering GOG's patch system is broken and doesn't upload all the patches and we'll all have to redownload the whole game again anyway, I don't regret my decision to refund here. GOG skips patch versions in their offline installers... Because suck. And the changelog isn't uptodate either.

All of these "problems' are alleviated completely when you use Galaxy...;) Galaxy is not DRM, contrary to popular belief...;)

I know this. I use Galaxy. But many people prefer to not use the optional client. The changelog isn't up-to-date in Galaxy, either.

How many launchers are we supposed to install?? I'm grateful for GOG having the offline installers available; but damn they need to actually make these patches available in a timely manner.

Galaxy is good that it shows every game from other platforms so you really need only to start Galaxy
