i have had this game since launch and it used to launch but for the last 5 or 6 months it has not launched, it shows signs of trying to but then just closes itself, i can run the game if i open the dx11 version of the exe, but the launcher won't launch and when i use the geforce experience it opens the steam game page even though it's directed to the gog version in my folders. I am running out of ideas of how to fix i tried almost every website fix and nothing works.

Someone please help, not sure i need launcher to get the latest updates the version the game has is v4.1.106.9344, I tried to reinstall, and it does the same thing. i really don't want to have to factory restore to see if it works for 1 game as every other game launcher i have works just not larian's. I am going to check on another computer to see if it's the laptop that is causing it but i have my doubts.

1st please confirm we are talking about Gog build and not Paradox or Steam because they are different

2nd take a look at the settings image
A the build version shown on Larion launcher is Bullshit and they can't even be bothered to keep their own software up to date because they are too keen to do their job because making twitter posts is more important

B sounds like it could be your Gpu scan is being blocked... press the setting and try turning off the update settings so the launcher doesn't try to scan your system... then shut your system dowm {windows 8-10} and when it boots back up switch to Vulkan

if B works then your system is blocking scans and this should work around to problem... assuming yes then you can switch back to dirrext X but if not we need to look elsewhere

p.s, patch 5 is about to launch so game versions will prob change by this time tomorrow ;)

gog version its the only version I have. i can not even get launcher working on the laptop it launches then just closes itself. The only way i can play the game is going straight to the game folder and launching the bg3_dx11 version. I tried on another pc and it launches fine, so this is all so weird. it was working a long time ago before tho. I think its something somewhere on the pc is blocking it I just don't have a clue where to look.

EDIT: So I fixed it found a post on larian to update AMD drivers from AMD website And it works now :)

If it's the Larian Launcher that is causing the issue, you can try removing the vulkan-1.dll driver from the SYSTEM 32 folder.
