So the latest hotfix released in early Oct does not appear when I click on Check for Updates. I definitely don't have it yet, I have 4.1.1.3764761 but I believe Hotfix #9 is out and it has a different version number.

Or am I misreading the poorly structured GOG Galaxy overview page?

Could it be you have a number twist in the thing you wrote, there never was a patch with your number and you should have the newest 4.1.1.3767641, see here: https://bg3.wiki/wiki/Patch_Notes

Patch3 Hotfix3 is on the GoG servers since ages, at least a week.

Nah. Did a bit more research. Larian calls the latest patch Hotfix #9. GOG calls it Hotfix #3. No idea why, but there you go.
