Hi all,

I haven't updated to the latest patch yet, because I have to redownload the whole game. I want to start a MP campaign with a friend in the next week.

Now I saw quite a few comments elsewhere that Patch 4 breaks significant things, even in unmodded vanilla installs. What is your experience?

the major issues;
1 multiplayer does not work between Mac and Windows because they are different builds
2 talking system is busted because the game thinks you are Shadowheart instead of your character
3 act 3 = Shadowheart and Gall break ... she goes insto tpose still and gall runs off to talk to mystra

there are the normal small issues that every untested patch causes and most of those should be sorted soon

enjoy your game but don't expect to finish it

What's the context in which the game mistakenly identifies the player as being Shadowheart? I've used the newly-patched version of the game for several hours, and I haven't noticed such a mixup. Please tell me how I can check this situation during gameplay.

there are places where you say your name... the one i last encountered was recruiting Karlach ... you say your name and my lizard sorcerer said my name is Shadowheart... others in discord has reported the same bug

its a sync issue, sometimes when the game jumps to main character in starting a talk it puts her details instead so your [whatever race class and background] has the talk options of Shadowheart a cleric with shit charisma and skills
