Hi all,

As has been observed by some people already, the patch*.pak files in the \Data directory substantially increase the install footprint. SSD gigabytes still aren't cheap, so adding 30+GB to an already huge game is not trivial.

Now the question: Has anyone recently installed the very latest build "fresh" and does it still have all these "patch*.pak" files in \Data - or is the game down to 120GB instead of 150GB if you install a clean latest version?
a fresh or galaxy install is smaller than the off line install yes... the reason is simply the space needed for unpacking files and the fact you can remove these files after they unpack i.e, you need that extra space only while the install process is running

there are ways [both galaxy or off line] to send these packing files to a different drive for unpacking but most people don't have that level of skill or are happy to have their computer tell them what it decides is best for them
