Usually a few hours after it goes live on Steam, my Galaxy client will get the update. However, there have been occasions when it has been days. This is the fault of the developers not releasing the files to GOG with the same speed they do Steam.

As for offline patches, there's an expected delay because a GOG employee has to create the patch file. However, I swear they used to do this a lot faster than they do nowadays.

Days? Hmm
Honestly... A bit disconcerting. :/

Thanks for the information!

Its rare, but its the truth. Usually the longest you'll wait is a day, but there have been times
I noticed that with both patch 1 and 2 I seemed to get the update many hours earlier than some folks here on the forums.

I wonder if this has something to do with the speed at which the patch propagates across the CDN (Content Delivery Network) after GOG uploads it, or whether they're deliberately staggering the update rollout to prevent the download servers from being overloaded if everyone tried to update BG3 at the same time.

If they are gradually rolling out the patch, then your best bet is to start Galaxy early and leave it running in the background, since your chances of being offered the update should be higher during off-peak hours. I usually leave Galaxy running all day and I've been getting the patches pretty swiftly, although I am in the UK. I wonder if it bogs during US times in particular...

normally the same day or the same time

when there is a delay its because of their small staff numbers
It is the Devs of the game that submit the patchfiles to the digital plattform where it is provided and i am not sure how deep they are involved into the preparation of the patching but it seems reasonable to me that they submit the patchfiles one platform a time, so a slight delay is to be expected.

Keep cool is the best way to handle it.

Maybe ask Larian to prioritze GOG?
