megatron-uk: The game works fine - it's being played via Lutris which bundles it's own specific version of Wine to play it; that's not a problem - I've got maybe ~18 hours of play in iit so far.
It's that the original download that was offered ~10 days ago from the offline installers list now doesn't appear to have an option to upgrade it. There should be something to update from v4.1.1.3622274 to v4.1.1.3624901 to allow the new hotfixes and patches to install, I've downloaded all of the offline hotfix/patches and every single one of them exits saying that I have the incorrect version of the installer available.
Was there a v4.1.1.3622274 to v4.1.1.3624901 patch released in the last 10 days before GOG updated the base game to v4.1.1.3624901?
Downloading all ~115GB in 28 files again just to get the updated base game would be a pain in the ass.
The version numbers for the initial patches were a mess. Someone worked out what was going on by using the galaxy version history:
Yeah, it looks like they only released part of patch 1, they forgot the smaller update which Galaxy installed first.
To clarify, my BG3 version history updated through Galaxy currently looks like this:
v4.1.1.3630146 - Patch Patch0_Hotfix2
v4.1.1.3624901 - Patch v1 <--- they added an offline installer for this bit
v4.1.1.3624901 - Patch <--- but they forgot this bit <_<
v4.1.1.3622274
Not sure if this is Larian or GOG being drunk, but I think it's safe to say someone's rushing the patches out a little too hastily.
It took GOG a few days to realise the "Patch" offline installer was missing and then it was uploaded as:
patch_baldurs_gate_3_Release_-_v4.1.1.3622274_(66516)_to_Release_-_v4.1.1.3624901_-_Patch_(66545).exe
As you've found without it you cannot get to patch 1 from the original release.
I have my own saved copy of that offline installer and it has md5sum 096d0bace81a71caf23fd0162a925020, but I don't think the GOG user agreement allows me to share it.
I suggest you contact GOG support to get a copy.
