I'm stick with the Patch #1 (4.1.1.3669438)

I have uninstalled and reinstalled the game without any changes.

where can I found the latest version available from GOG?
and how I can force the update?

is there any local cached file to purge?

How did you download the game? Galaxy or GoG.com?

GOG Galaxy => select Baldur's gate 3 => Extra => you can download it manualy.

Is it just me or has the offline download not been updated, but only the Galaxy download?
I wanted to grab the Patch 6 update for my archive, but it doesn't seem available yet.

Both via the GOG.com site and the Galaxy offline backup download, the files are still Patch 5 - Hotfix 6.

Really frustrating. I just managed to get far with my current run, was going to restart for the patch, but can't download it and I can't even run GoG Galaxy with WINE to see if the update is available there because the ruddy download page doesn't give a link because it detects that I'm on Linux.

I think you're right. I have been checking every day since Larian announced that Patch 6 was released, and the offline files still have not been updated from Patch 5 - Hotfix 6 (4.1.1.4494476). We know this isn't the same as Patch 6 because Patch 5 - Hotfix 6 has been there since before the Patch 6 release date.

In an attempt to try and get Patch 6, I downloaded via Galaxy and it shows a different installed version (4.1.1.4763283), which I believe is newer? So seems that Patch 6 is only available at the moment via Galaxy.

https://remote-config.gog.com/components/webinstaller?component_version=2.0.0 will give you what you need if you're on Linux (or anything else.)
Edit: What you need to install Galaxy, I meant. It's not a solution for downloading the patch 6 offline installers, but you can update to p6 via Galaxy.

Additonal edit: While I have Galaxy running under linux, I really love lgogdownloader for actually downloading/updating games. Galaxy (on my distro, anyway) has a nasty habit of deciding it's not connected to the internet every 15 minutes or so, stalling out your download until you close and reopen it.

Shukran. I'll give it a go. Thank you. I haven't had to manually make anything since I tried Slackware when it first started lol. Even on my Gentoo laptop I just emerge, so this bring back memories. But if this gets me back into game I am down.

Also, I used Tor Browser to download. Apparently it keeps its useragent setting to Windows 7 or something.

This is probably a developer issue and not so much a GoG issue.

Part of the release processes is to create an "installer", and ever since games went to online patches, less and less emphasis has been on the game installers, as it would take too much time to test both cases.

They might release an installer with patches up to a certain point, but even Microsoft, for example, has issues with this and only releases installers of Windows certain times a year, if that makes sense.

I'd ask on the Larian forums.

Yes GoG is late again.

You have to realize that Steam has a de facto monopoly.

GoG is a small company by comparison, and maybe developers feel uncomfortable that there is no copy protection either ? So they take their time to give GoG their version.

Or maybe GoG is just low on staff.

Either way GoG is always late. There is no use to complain about it. Its just the state of things.

The latest build (v4.1.1.4763283=Patch 6) is in the GOG repository since last Wednesday, they just hadn't the time yet to generate the corresponding offline installers:
