Everytime the game autosaves, I get this error that pops up. It can't find the folder. Anyone else get this? If so, how can i fix this?

Most likely that is due to your anti-virus protection. BG3 stores saves in the document folder which for a bunch of people, is one of their one-drive folders also. You'll have to add the BG3 executables (both bg3.exe and bg3_dx11.exe, so both can be used) and potentially the launcher, to your AV product's allowed apps.
For instance, for AVG, select settings, general, blocked and allowed apps, then add (+ Allow App) both of the BG3 exe's and make sure allowed through ransomeware protection. That took care of the error for saves for me. Note, other AV products will be slightly different.
So I did that and got my AV to allow but the game works until you try to save. It literally just doesn't know where the save folder is and idk how to get it to do that. It's in the programx86 folder and the documents folder. So im not sure how to get it to figure out the correct path.
so are you using Windows 7 perhaps?

also the programs folder is the last place any software should ever be installed

Windows 10. Where should my software be installed? Is there a way I can change how it works. BG3 just won't save period. Quicksave, autosave, and manual save all cause the prompt to come up and keeps the game from working. Not sure how I can manually go in and change it.
we can't read your mind so I'm going to assume Galaxy 1 as Galaxy 2 does not default to program folder

see images

to change the install path you need 'settings' and 'install' path... this will send new games to whatever location you want but moving the current game takes a bit more

first look in your documents for the 'Larian Studios' i.e, did it get created by your games install the first time as if not then you options are more limited

assuming you do have the 'Larian Studios' then there are two basic options;

1. uninstall the BG3 game, change the path in Galaxy 1 to a new location and then reinstall BG3 to this new path... the down side is clearly the fact that you have to download all 80G again

2. before uninstalling BG3, first copy all the game files over into your new folder i.e, make a folder in G\ games for example then put a copy of BG3 inside this path before uninstalling the game from programs folder

after uninstall restart your system and tell Galaxy to scan the install path for games ... it should detect the BG3 folder which you can then 'verify' to save reinstalling ... a verify takes just about as long as downloading because it has to check all the files but it doesn't actually download anything unless it finds some file missing
