I noted the Druid Grove had become aggro when I approached the front gate after I had saved Sazza the goblin by guiding her through the underground passage. My first assumption was that it was because I had rescued her, but not so.

I backed through several saves to one where I had cleared the passage but had not freed her. I chose to leave her in the cage and when I left the jail area going back into the grove, I got a narrator dialogue indicating that "my attempt to disarm the trap has not gone unnoticed" and the Grove was aggro.

Haven't yet determined if it's because I disarmed the guardians in the underground cave or the poison gas in the room adjacent to Netty's area.

I'm classifying it as a bug since when you approach the front gate, you don't get the narrator dialogue giving you a clue as to why the teiflings are now raining down arrows, only if you are going back in near the jail.

-edit- Did some save scumming and it is the act of disarming the poison gas traps in the chamber between the underground passage and the Druid Library.

to be honest i'm shocked you would think the Druids are fine with that + its a question of little things add up... every deed they see you do drops your rep with them unless you can talk your way out of it... its the same with other groups too

p.s you got a clue "my attempt to disarm the trap has not gone unnoticed"

I got that clue when I exited the jail area. There is no clue when you approach the front gate, which I tried after a reload. The gate opens and then the red dots start popping up on the map. And it's not the druids that are attacking, it's the tieflings. I also think that if I was being considered an enemy, the gate should not be opening for me.

It's not that I might have done something to cause the aggro, but the inconsistency between the two trigger areas.

No, I didn't....

And I'm hearing some noise on the FB BG3 group that this disarm seems to aggro some other NPCs outside the grove as well. Sounds like they were tweaking some of the triggers for this patch and this one has some issues.
I was just playing last night and it looks like destroying one of those drums in the goblin camp will aggro Dror Ragzlin no matter where you are in the camp. I was in battle outside the main door and I shot the drum (to destroy it before they triggered it). It cut to a Ragzlin cutscene where he talks about defiling the absolute or something. Then I rolled initiative like 10 times, then my fight continued (I must've been too far to stay in combat).

Second time, I destroyed the one near that Drow leader. Same cutscene, this time his whole room came charging out after me.

Frankly, it's shocking to me how buggy this play through feels compared to my last one. Last time there was just a lot of content missing. This time, there are significant, noticeable bugs. I wouldn't expect that kind of regression without major code changes or refactors across the code baseline.

Maybe I just didn't get a chance to play it right away. I'm sure the hotfixes will flood out any minute.

Whoa! Destroying the drums is supposed to _prevent_ the gobbos from going aggro!

I dunno. If someone walked in to my house and started trashing my alarm system, I might be pissed. But I agree, doing it undetected shouldn't auto-aggro a room halfway across the complex.

I also noticed the goblins didn't actually trigger the drums during the fight. I initially thought it was just my awesome combat skills, but during one fight a goblin ran over to the drum, then ran back to fight, but didn't play the drumming animation and didn't make the rest of the complex hostile... so my guess is that drums are just broken right now.

Looking forward to the patch notes in the next hotfix.
