Heya, I'm in Baldur's Gate and found the Guild of Nine Fingers, and she asked me to go to the bank to deal with the Stone Lord.

So I go there, everything seems normal, I talk my way in and don't see any enemy, I keep going down to the last vault and there is a cutscene with Minsc coming out of a mimic, then Jaheira appears ( but it can't be the real one, I killed her at the Last Light Inn, so I guess it's a shapeshifter or maybe Orin ), they both disappear into a portal and a bunch of Baahl's assassins appear.

So I helped the Dwarf and the guards take them down, because I thought that's what I was supposed to do : deal with the Stone Lord robbing the bank.

But when I go back to Nine Fingers she says I was not supposed to intervene and if I double-cross her again she'll kill me.

And at this point I don't understand anything. There are too many factions and characters, the Absolute, the Stone Lord, Orin, Gortash, Nine Fingers, Bhaal, Jaheira who's probably not Jaheira and Minsc, who might not be Minsc either, and the Bank guys who are supposed to work for Nine Fingers but did bring a mimic with Minsc into the vault, and they were supposed to deal with the Stone Lord but got attacked by Bhaal instead ?

And why is Nine Fingers mad at me for saving her people ? She said she owns the bank. Was I supposed to just stand there and watch ?

Ok so I reloaded a save before the fight and even if I stayed hidden during the cutscene, I still got dragged into it. But instead of attacking I ran to the door and left. But Nine Fingers still acts as if I intervened. WHAT was i supposed to do in that mission to please her ? Not go to the vault ?

Also during the cutscene "Jaheira" calls Minsc Stone Lord... and the vault is already empty, even if we didn't see anyone steal anything.

And the dwarf says that Nine Fingers made the chest they're bringing in specifically for that occasion. But... why ? And why is Minsc inside ? What was Nine Fingers' goal ? Rob the bank ? Or stop the Stone Lord ?

And why did they need Minsc to infiltrate the vault if they can just teleport in ? And why are Bhaal's assassin's attacking ?

I have NO idea what's happening with this quest, it feels like a big chunk of tha game is missing, probably because I killed Jaheira...

Nine Fingers wanted you to not intervene at all (aka don't go to the Counting House), so yes, she is mad at you. What's SUPPOSED to happen is that this quest ties in quite tightly with Jaheira's personal quest, so by not having her here you're missing out on a lot of context. But anyway, if you still want Nine Fingers to be OK with you afterwards, go hunt down Minsc/Stone Lord and either kill/recruit him, then you can go back to Nine Fingers and tell her that the Stone Lord will no longer be a problem.

Spoilers below if you want the full story of how it's all connected...

As you know, the Cutl of the Absolute is merely a front for the machinations of the Dead Three (the triune of evil gods, Bane, Bhaal and Myrkul). The Stone Lord is another tadpoled individual who was appointed to lead a rival/upstart criminal organization to displace the Guild (who were opposed to the Cult of the Absolute) as leaders of Baldur's Gate's criminal underworld. Under pressure, Nine Fingers concocts a plan to lure the Stone Lord into a trap by placing a Mimic (supposed to be an extremely powerful one) inside the Vault when he and the fake Jaheira go to the Counting House. Minsc proves too strong for the Mimic to defeat, and while he's fighting it, the fake Jaheira (who is in truth a doppelganger assassin and part of the Cult of Bhaal) goes ahead and loots the vault anyway. The Vaults are supposed to be warded against teleportation, which is why Nine Fingers comes up with this plan to lure the Stone Lord in (they wanted to rob the place, but they can only get in via invitation).
