Hello

some weeks ago my BG3 beta ran fine on my Win7 system, but after patching to final it freezes on startup.

So Larian managed to support Win7 for the whole development time and then drop it ?
Makes no sense to me.

Has someone managed to run the final it with Win7 ?

And upgrading to Win10 isnt an option here ;-/

I do not know how it works but it does work for me: doubleclick the DX11.exe while holding the shift key. Hold the shift key until the game is started.

1 the EA build needs to talk to Larian servers and so does the release build... the server is currently down but there is a backup just grabbing sign ins i.e, saves and multiplayer is busted but the game should still link to your Gog account

2 no Larian didn't support Win7 and finding a workaround does not make something supported

it will be either a driver issue that your Gpu doesn't have the tools under Win7 or a network issue that your system [firewall, proxy etc] is not allowing the hand shake and if your Gpu could handle EA my money is on network

Well, that worked for me !! Thanks !!
shift click = custom launch parameters

so a web browser opens in debug mode , a exe runs its other mode for example if your custom launch parameter says 'open as admin' then shift click would say just open normally... the default DX11 exe doesn't have any other mode so you must have edited it somehow

anyway gratz on getting working and back to gaming
