Made quick small tool that allows you to unassign control axes as game doesn't allow delete axis definition and sometime make totally unwanted auto assignment.

Just copy to your game\Options dir next to your B17.opt file and run it from there. Then just click on control you want unassign. Then start B-17 and you can see desired control has axis unassigned. Very useful for all throttle auto assigements so you can just assing your throttle only to ALL ENGINES control.

If needed I can try add all joystick buttons.

Please backup your B17.opt first as this tool is just tested with my gog version game and your mileage can vary.

Needs .net framework 4.0 (at least Client Profile).
Thanks, really handy tool.

Hi you seem pretty handy with this game - I was wondering if you could take a look at my thread in the subforum RE: Pilot AI failing to take control of plane / flight stick button assignments registering in the Options / Control menu, but not working in game. Thanks!
I'm using a 360 controller and the original (patched) version of the game. The throttle always maps to the triggers (a single z-axis). When I use this program the axes will now show unmapped in the options screen, however in a mission the triggers are still mapped to the throttles. Any ideas?

Thanks for writing this by the way, even if it doesn't work for me (yet). The default mapping is one of the biggest issues I'm having and I'm glad someone's working on it.

Edit: Never mind. I simply had to map the throttles to a new key/button, and the trigger axis is now locked out. Thank you so much for making this!!!

Ataribaby, Would you be able to add some buttons to your program? I'm interested in 4 of them.
AI/Manual, Pause, Switch to external view, and Switch to internal view.
If it's something I could do, I would need to know what editing program to use.

I hope we can work out a solution.
