I don't specifically remember anything about a time limit in Avernum 3, but I do remember being able to get to 100% completion without feeling rushed (and the game is huge), so if there is one, it shouldn't be a problem.
I do remember (minor spoilers) that there was a demonic incursion event in the Tower of Magic that occurred after a set number of days, and if you don't deal with it you'll start periodically taking damage from demonic magic... possibly it would eventually reach an endgame scenario if you never addressed it. But once you go back to the tower and complete that quest, the "clock" disappears and you can get on with the rest of the game.
