I just installed Trudograd 1.056 from the offline installer. I launch the game and nothing happens for two minutes, black screen. I hit the keyboard and am sent to the main menu. I guess this means I have no intro video (or sound). I start a new game, same thing happens. I guess I have no cutscene video/sound either. Looks like I need a video fix.

I noticed the previous patch is labeled "1.055 video fix". The installer naturally refuses to update as the game is already higher version than the patch.

Does anyone have the same problem? Any solutions?

The devs got back to me. My Win 10 N edition was missing Media Foundation (aka Media Feature Pack):

"N editions of Windows include the same functionality as other editions of Windows, except for media-related technologies, Windows Media Player, and certain preinstalled media apps (Groove, Movies & TV, Voice Recorder, and Skype). The Media Feature Pack provides a way for a customer to restore these excluded technologies."

Installing the Media Feature Pack was a bit trickier than just downloading it from Microsoft website. I had to follow this guide:
https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/topic/media-feature-pack-list-for-windows-n-editions-c1c6fffa-d052-8338-7a79-a4bb980a700a
"Windows 10 N: Select the Start button, then select Settings > Apps > Apps & features > Optional features > Add a feature. Then locate the Media Feature Pack in the list of available optional features."
