It looks very cool and I just started playing, but the top down fixed 45 degress angle point of view is driving me mad! This reminds me of legacy games. I instinctively want to view whats in front of me at a level position. Hopefully Ill grow accustomed to it. It must be a limitation of the game engine. I thought maybe a mod might fix this but mods for this game are scant.

Try NEUTRON mod. You'll not be disappointed :)
With this mod you can almost play in first person view.
