Fresh install downloaded and installed today (v1.190). Installation is typical GOG install, no issues there. Upon starting, screen flashes a moment and back to desktop. Nothing happens. No error message is displayed.

Any ideas on what to do?

Previously (with older versions), if you had success running the game, I suspect (due to the age of your hardware) that you may simply need to force the usage of OpenGL (rather than Vulkan, which had become the default within the last few years).

Within start.sh, add the appropriate parameter, like so:
./"AtomRPG.x86_64" -force-opengl

Or, my preference (circumventing the need for start.sh, as I do not use Bash):
/example/path/game/AtomRPG.x86_64 -force-opengl

If the aforementioned flag does not help, I am uncertain as to how to proceed from here.
