Lasers are said to be best for small craft and bad vs larger ships.
Beams are said to be best for larger targets and bad vs small ships.
ok, black and white comparison, expect that level for level lasers have WAY more DPS and have faster projectiles making beams completely pointless.

Wouldn't it make more sense for beams to have higher DPS than lasers of the same level at the cost of sometimes missing because slow projectile and worse energy drain?
