Having put about 40+ hours into the sandbox game mode where you clear out the pirates and then the 'boss' before you can access the next zone, I want to offer feedback and QoL issues.

- Life support is ridiculously short once you get a few sectors out. Even in a Cruiser filled with all million dollar technology in each of the the Life Support panel sockets, it still only gives me about 2 minutes to survive. Imagine if 'The Expanse' or 'Star Trek' captains docked every 2 minutes because they had to recharge their life support...

- The issue that was previously brought up about mercs not docking is causing frustration. Once the endgame starts, they die quickly to the pirate's large weapons. There is no command to 'Stay Docked' and when exiting the station, they do not respond to 'Dock at station' command. Can this issue be fixed?

I am truly enjoying seeing the game take shape and become better and better with each patch. Thank you.
okay, when flying around, sending them to dock is just a quick dock for repairs. i will add an option on the fleet command panel to 'STAY DOCKED' until commanded otherwise, or leaving the sector.

when you dock at any station, open the pilot panel and the click fleet. you can retire a merc from duty without losing him. he will wait at the station for you until you dock there and sign him back up. the merc will retain a slot in your fleet command, but you will not lose their progress.

That is great to know! Would you consider adding that information into the tooltip / information box? If they retain a slot in the fleet, then how can we get rid of a merc permanently? Such as if we no longer need a miner or an escort.
After you have retired a merc, there is an additional button that allows you to permanently fire them. I don't recall it's name, but it's obvious.

I do think using the term 'retire' is fairly misleading. "Mothball" would be more appropriate.
i appologize for the mis wording there....

you can De-Activate the merc, keeping him in your fleet, but locking him to the station.

then, once deactivated, you can retire, thus firing him.
Excellent, good to know. Thanks basileus and momoguru.

The words 'Dock' and 'Retire' would also be clear to understand.
