Is there any way to tear down that unstable wall in first dungeon (basement under prison) - room with spiders?
Weapons, rocks and magic (fireball) aren't working.
Should I look for a pick axe or some special spell?

It's strange that it isn't working for you. Do you get different results when running it through Arx Libertatis?

i get the same result with arx libertatis where when i click on the icon it will appear as though it was loading and then nothing happens

You will need a pickaxe to knock down walls. You'll find them in the later part of the game.

Gexecuter: no sorry, i am running Windows XP SP3. maybe i am just being lucky and haven't stumbled into any bugs tough i am curious, what are the save bugs like? are they subtle? maybe i just didn't notice them...
did you have to do anything to get the game running? ive spent the last 2 days trying to get arx to work and i can't get a refund so i'm really stuck.

No i didn't do anything special, of course that was when i was using XP so thing could be different now that i have switched to W7. What OS are you using

Have you tried compatibilty modes? Maybe try different versions of windows when changing the compatibilty?

I found this forum thread dealing some fixes so maybe you could try some of them, here is the thread:

EDIT: Btw have you downloaded the game very recently? there was a new patch for the game released after it landed on gog so gog uploaded the whole game again with the patch included if i remember correctly. Probably doesn't apply in your case but i thought it was worth mentioning.

to answer your question i downloaded the game about 5 days ago with the 1.21 patch included and thanks for the suggestion even if they didnt work it still more than what the gog support team did lol

Well that sucks, here are some interesting links that i found the web that may or may not solve your problem:

Portable launcher (i'm reaching i know)

If that doesn't work i would suggest looking for some more fixes in the internet. If you ever switch to Windows 7 i can confirm it works pretty well for me so maybe you could switch OS? That's probably asking a lot tough.
Oh well i hope my last links will help you somewhat, otherwise i would urge you to try again for a refund i mean come on.

Indeed, save often.
Every 2 minutes like me.
Crashes like hell, but I don't mind it. It's fun to play. I love it.
It's worth it ( the ennoying crashing stuff )

Open world RPG,
I still find it better than Morrowind, Oblivion, Kingdoms of Amalur, .......

If you like it ....: the first and 3th Gothic games are even so great.
