Hey! I am currently on my 3rd playthrough of Arx Fatalis, just installed Arx Libertatis to make the game work again and I'm enjoying the hell out of it (no more white textures!! hell yeah!)

Anyway, I wanted to ask you if there were any changes to fireball spell (or spells in general), I remember that I was able to 1 shot Ylsides with it (I think I had about 20 Mental and around 80 Casting - I can't remember the exact numbers but I've only been investing points in Mental and Casting and I clearly remember that when they invaded Arx I could 1 shot each of them with a fireball) - it's not the case anymore in the latest release of Arx Libertatis (I'm playing the dev release, not the regular release - could that be the problem?)

Can anyone confirm that you can still 1 shot Ylsides? maybe I need more Mental points and Casting?

Yes. Fireball got nerfed. Ylsides need 2, sometimes 3 fireballs. Unless you aim a bit high and unleash it point blank, instead of launching it from far away (store spell and use with quick spell button).

Ideal for Ylsides is 1x incinerate and one or two melee swings, or just to be safe, 1x incinerate and 1x fireball.

Better invest in the skill that recharges mana faster, too. As well as casting itself.
There are not supposed to be any fireball nerfs. Please create an issue at bugs.arx-libertatis.org/ and attach a save file so that we can fix this.

It was actually nerfed. An old patch note stated that explicitly. Ever since the old days (before GOG).

Ah then I misunderstood - I thought you meant it was nerfed in AL.
