In the crypt Keeper's puzzle room on level 6, I seem to have found a game stopper.
I finished the first part, and was working on the second. While figuring out the correct placement of symbolic stones, one was placed just behind, in a straight line, to the dial/pedestal in the closest right-hand dial. This would also be around the 5 o'clock position if standing in the center facing the gated opening. (See attachment)
There seems to be a spot just behind or on the pedestal's edge where the game will freeze if you drop a symbolic stone there, evidenced by the object shadow. Once I released the symbolic and let it drop, the game froze.
This was reproduced multiple times on my end, resulting in the game freezing. It took an Alt-Tab and guess-work to close the game from the taskbar, as my desktop was hidden behind the frozen game screen.
Game version is GOG's 1.19.

I just ran into this same bug about 20 minutes ago while working my way through the crypt puzzle. There seems to be an area near the base of each pedestal where, if one of the symbols is dropped there, will cause the game to crash. It isn't restricted to any particular pedestal, I had the game crash three different times, each with a different pedestal. Overall not much of issue as the symbols should be placed on the pedestals, not behind them, to solve the puzzle.

Thank you, Skreczi, for the response, and I do apologize for the delay. As DarrkPhoenix stated, this is just one of those things that happen. Feel free to close this topic or mark it as solved, as my incident occurred before I properly learned about the 'Use" function (this being my first time through the game). I followed the instructions given quite literally and attempted to physically place the markers behind the posts. Shame there happened to be dead space there which gave birth to total game locks.
I just wanted to give fair warning, though there might have been some spoiler issues I was hoping to avoid. On my end, the issue has been solved by proper application of Using versus Placing.
