First of all, thanks GoG.com for making Arx available at such a low price. I've been a member of GoG.com for two years now, but I did not have the means necessary to buy games online. Situation's changed now so I decided to buy my first game here. Didn't spend too much time looking as Arx Fatalis has always been one of my favorite games.
Thanks again for providing this gem at such a low price.
I'll keep on hanging around the forums from now on, trying to be of some use and of course, to spend my time. :D
Welcome to... erm... the spending part of GOG. Of course, this also puts you on the receiving part. Enjoy your Arx Fatalis, I know I did.
Yeah I purchased Arx as well and have almost finished it. I like the overall setting of the game. It's really satisfying to discover a hidden switch or something that opens a secret room.

The low point for me is the spell casting system. It's not always easy to draw some of the runes on the screen. But I recently found that using my Wacom tablet to draw them was much easier. To make it even easier I put a piece of paper on top of the tablet. The extra friction made my movements more precise.

If you wanted to be really sneaky you could draw accepted rune shapes on paper ahead of time and then simply follow the lines like a connect the dots puzzle to cast it correctly every time. :)

Actually my initial plan was to try to use Autohotkey to pre program all the runes in macros and assign each to a key. But apparently Autohotkey doesn't pick up key presses from within Arx. It would have been cool though.
