I am in the goblin castle where you have to get the idol back for the trolls. What you are supposed to do (I looked this up in a guide) is taint the cookie dough with wine to poison the king. It said that Anuk would contiously walk back and forth to keep supplying the kin with pies, however he only stays at the king's door. Is this a glitch or am I missing something?

This has happened to other people. It's a glitch.

There is an alternate way around this: if your Sneak is 51 or higher you can pickpocket the key from either patrolling guard (both have it) by bumping into him and then clicking on the bag icon (to the bottom left) when his back is turned; with luck, he won't notice and you can quickly grab the key. If you use invisibility you can pickpocket people while standing right in front of them. Once you have the key you can open the door and you should be able to proceed with your mission. Not giving the king the bad food means you miss out on a couple of looting possibilities but otherwise everything will be fine.
If you can't do it that way either your best bet is to reload an earlier save and try again. :(

Alternatively you can make an apple pie and put wine in it. Bake it and then slip it under the door to the king's chamber by highlighting the pie and clicking on the door. Worked for me.

Oh man. Given the freedom Arx generally gives you to complete objectives your own way, this should have been obvious to more people, but I've never seen anyone mention this solution, nor did I think of it when I hit this glitch. Nice thinking!! +1

Actually, that door glitched for me a LOT. The king got stuck exiting it, guards got stuck on it / warped through it and stuck it in place . . . OTOH, I was messing around a lot in that hallway, my exploration hijinks have a tendency to uncover glitches :-P

I was kind of dumb and tried to just carry a wine-soaked apple pie to the door. Obviously, nothing happened. I'm glad that this forum helped me figure out what to do (use the pie on the door), as I too ran into the glitch where Anuk just stands there.

However, there is an alternate way to get the rockslide cleared. If you explore Pog's mine, you find a locked door with a troll behind it. He tells you if you kill Pog and bring Pog's key back and unlock the door for him, he'll clear the rockslide for you. Obviously this is the first time I've played so I have no idea how easy it is or not to kill Pog, but this would be an alternate way of doing the quest. Since the game offers it up as an alternate way to do it, Pog probably isn't any more difficult to kill than the goblin quartermaster in the strongroom, but I haven't tried it yet (I'll have to on my second time through).

This took care of it for me. It even un-sticks the cook so he can go back to his normal self in the kitchen again.
