Hi, I'm curious if this game offers a more traditional behind-the-car camera angle, or is it exclusively the slight top-down angle?

art of rally is designed to be played from a bird's eye view. However there is an abundance of camera and fov options to choose from. I believe not all of them are available in the demo, as it is quite outdated. If you already have the game, the closest to chase cam you can get is camera 1 with fov 35. Although I would recommend any other setting for the online events, as you will be able to see more of the track and throttle and break optimally.

Thanks!
Hi fellow rally drivers,

I have a strange behavior for my camera angle - I see my car only from the left side by default. I can change the angle with right stick on gamepad, but it defaults to left side view - unable to drive. When I played 2 weeks ago, everything was fine. Resetting to camera defaults did not solve the problem. Anybody have an idea?

Flat out!

My guess is, there's something wrong with your gamepad. Got to the controls settings and UN-assign the key that is currently set for "look left" and see if it changes anything. If not just play around with the camera controls in controls settings and try different options.

Another guess is, you might have another controller or usb device that is messing up things. Try disconnecting it and restart your computer.

Hi Miketsukami,

thanks for your reply, tried several things you proposed, "verify / repair installation" by GOG galaxy finally did the trick. Whatever was screwed, no idea.

Looking in the proper direction again while driving ;-)

Well, that's unexpected. Glad you found a solution though. Happy driving!
i love a happy ending. thanks for the help Miketsukami.Bo. :)
Refunding due to lack of a 1st person camera. Perhaps the promotional videos for this game ahould only feature top down views, to aviod confusion.

FYI: the gameplay trailer is the third video on the art of rally store page. When you open a video it says in the top left corner what it is about. The gameplay trailer showcases photo mode and only one bird's eye view camera, which is the intended experience. However in-game there are actually 8 camera positions you can choose from and also fov control. This is mentioned in the Overall most helpful review as well. You can find the reviews section if you scroll down the art of rally store page.

I hope you can find all the necessary information before making your next game purchase! Good luck! ;)
