gamesfreak64: Just bought Army Men - World War , and during setup it wanted to install dx 9.0c
why does setup always want to instal a x number of dx or other library while they should detect that in my case win7 is installed and uses dx 11, why is it so hard to detect which DX is installed ?
Anyway, i hope the game has not f ed up any other games and games settings and or libraries

DirectX turned into a monster in recent years. Each time a new version of the run-time is released they use a completely different DLL.
If your application targets the December 2005 version of DirectX, it is entirely possible you do not have that version of the runtime installed. And no, you need the right version of DX9, DX11 is completely orthogonal to DX9 - you could have a system with DX11 installed but lacking DX9 entirely if Microsoft did not actually package both with the operating system.
i_hope_you_rot:
To put it simple the difference between DirectX 9 and DirectX 11 is like the difference between Windows XP and Windows 7.
Both have entirely different base (In this case DLL files). So inorder for some games to run you will certainly need DirectX 9.

Okay i can ( have to ) live with that , as for windoze , windoze has always and will always be bad, i could also live with that, but win 10 = the worst windows ever and will stay the worst ever cause they dont build another windoze , at least thats what Mickeysoft said.
As for difference between Windows XP and Windows 7 - i like both and after disabling as much telemetry as possible and set updates to manual to prevent evil mickeysoft silently from upgradeing Win 7 to evil Win 10 it is pretty much far less phoning home ٩◔‿◔۶
Anyway win 10 is a behemoth ( nice word btw)
and in win 10's case i refer to the meaning as in Collins English Dictionary
