Ridiculous that army men bundle or all the games in the series work perfectly with compatibility with windows xp.

Check support site. Maybe use google. Update Windows, manually update DirectX, Enable Legacy DirectPlay.
Even if game installed as admin in X:\games/ run it as admin.

If use Galaxy - start galaxy as admin (and from games folder too). Always check games after installation.
