So, I'm running Windows 10 64bit Professional, I have 12GB RAM, an Intel i7-3610QM Quad Core (2.3 GHz), an Nvidia GeForce GTX 660M GPU, and have an integrated Intel HD 4000 chip. My screen res is normaly 1600x900 (laptop, building a desktop but needed something in the meantime), and even running it in Compatibility Mode for XP SP2, SP3, and running it as Admin, it'll launch to black screen, change my resolution, but just sit there. The INSTANT I move my mouse, the game either crashes, or makes a quarter of my screen black, but the only way to disable it or get my laptop to do anything else is to hard reboot. I have no idea what's going on, because I can run Ground Control, MechWarriors 3, 4 (Vengeance, Mercenaries, and Black Knight), MechCommander(s) 1 and 2, Half Life (All the older ones that obviously don't run in anything short of Compat Mode), and I have no problems whatsoever... I've uninstalled and reinstalled, wiped the HDD, even reinstalled Windows. I've tried everything I can think of... but I'll take suggestions. Even if it's slightly weird, I'll try it. This game was my childhood and the first game I ever owned on my Gamecube... I learned it was on PC about two weeks ago and had to have it, but I'm really bummed about not being able to play it.

Hi !
Well, I'm don't own Win10 so I won't be of a big help, but have you tried to run the game in compatibility mode for Windows 7 and 8 ? Can it be a problem of DirectX 9 ? (I guess you have it installed ?)
Are you running the game through Galaxy ? And have you tried to contact support ?
Sorry, I won't be of a big help :S But I hope you'll find a solution :)

I've tried running it in every compatibility mode I can think of, though I'm not sure of what Galaxy is exactly...? This is the first game I've bought on GOG, so I'm really new here.

Figured out what Galaxy is, going to try that now.

Galaxy does NOT help at all... I'm at a loss.

Well, welcome here :) If you have any question about GOG, feel free to ask in the general forum ! ;)

I asked about Galaxy because it can sometimes creates issues, it's not often but that may happens.

Ok, One another suggestion : have you tried to change the installation's path ? To install & launch the game "as administrator" ?

If nothing works, you should ask at the support. You can access the support part of the site with the menu at the top of the page (between the "Community" menu and your username/account menu). Go into "Game Technical Issues", search for your game. When it's done, you'll have a list of potential issues with potential fixes, and if nothing is relevant or works, at the bottom left you can see "Didn't find the answer you were looking for?" and here you can contact GOG's support directly to explain precisely your issue (don't hesitate to explain what you already tried).
I hope your issue will have finally a solution :)

Hey! I was having a black screen driver crash during the main menu - this was solved by going into the NVIDIA Geforce Experience app, clicking the cog wheel, going into 'General' settings and turning Sharing off.

I was then getting rainbow effects in game, and this was solved by going into NVIDIA control panel -> Manage 3D Settings -> Restore Defaults -> Apply.

Because NVIDIA was trying to force all kinds of fancy schmancy settings on the game it was wigging out.

I'm not sure if this will solve your problem, but hopefully it helps?

Enable DirectPlay in Windows "Programs and Features > Legacy Components"

That'll get the game working again.

Yea no, that doesn't do it for me.
I am ok by setting the file Armymen.exe and GOGLancher.exe to compatibility mode for" Windows 98/windows Me" and set as admin to run the program. You may try this.
