Hey all,

I am looking at the Arma games and am wondering if there is any story to them. There are three versions, if it is all about the gameplay, then surely the best one to go for is ARMA 2, is there any reason I would want to play the others? I have more money than time, though not alot of either so I am after quality over quantity.

Any advice would be appreciated!

The stories are not connected in any meaningful way, if that's what you're asking.

Arma 2 has the best story and best gameplay IMO. I mean the base game. Arrowhead added lots of gameplay improvements, but the campaign wasn't too impressive. IMO the British DLC was nice, the PMC was crap, and Checz one was okay, but felt unfinished (even more than ususal :) ).

Arma CWA has a nice story too, that might be reason enough to play it, if you have time for it. You can skip Arma 1 though, I'd only recommend that if you're a big fan of the series, otherwise you won't miss anything if you don't play it.
