Hello guys!
So, after a week, so far I managed to solve every single problem I had with starting the game (followed many guides, tried things on my own with over 30 full clean reinstalls until now. I've received every single message others encountered and posted about on the net, managed to fix all of them. This recent one however is something I cannot figure out and couldn't find a normally written solution to the problem (apart from the mighty "reinstall and hope for the best" suggestions of course.

So, here's where I'm at (temporarily disabled uac, everything started as admin):
- Installed GoG Arma2
- fixed paths in regedit
- added multiplayer key
- updated game to latest beta build 96493
- installed dayz (manually, since Dayz Commander screws my updates up every single time, along with playsix)
- added startup parameters to shortcuts (exp\beta, @dayz)

Result:,
- arma and armaOA both start perfectly, with the dayz logo, can recognize the placed addon
I'm not using the .exe-s directly, either start game from shortcut or from dayz for multiplayer.

however, starting multiplayer from either commander or playsix, I got the following lines:
During preloading the game, before ticking of the last two squares, warning pops:
addon 'dayz_anim' requires addon 'CA_Anims_E'

Pressed ok, entered game, before lobby, gives another warning with different files.

Basically the issue is this one (I got the same warnings):
http://dayzmod.com/forum/index.php?/topic/30527-multiple-errors-when-starting/

however, this is an old thread (arma and armaoa in different directories, etcetc) without any proper solution.

I have no idea what shall I do know, anyone familiar with this issue could help me out?

Thanks for reading and commenting!

P.S.: My last two reinstalls resulted in this issue, so a simple reinstall wouldn't help.
P.S.2: The very first time I installed things I managed to get it all working, however for some reason armaoa couldn't be patched at all, even in dayz commander, after it said that patch was completed successfully, its version number remained the same (refreshed ofc) with any changes made to the game. On top of all that, since I was unable to patch the game to higher version, every time I joined a server (same or other from what I've previously been one) my character restarted with completely new stuff and attributes on different locations (basically my characters were not saved).
Since then I've encountered the steam-only (?) 'mptable.shadow' issue, the 'pixel alpha' issue, the 'cd key in use' issue, basically almost anything wiki mentions on different reinstalls...

Ouch! 30 reinstalls?! I feel with you.. I got it working after my first install and felt that was a long procedure. Sadly, I didn't realize that Arma was on GOG so I bought it from BI, so I might not be able to help but...

Regarding the first message: I have that too, but it doesn't prevent me from playing or anything. The second one, and the tip in the link you provided makes me suspect that the GOG release might be version 1.59, i.e. same version as the one from BI:s store.

The thing is, I'm doing a reinstall now because I've noticed that the retail version is 1.59, and there are 2 official patches to bring it up to 1.62. These are *not* the same as the "beta patch". So, if your version before installing the beta patch isn't 1.62.something, there's a good chance installing the way I'm about to will fix some or all issues, so here's my approach:

1. Install Arma II CO (In my case it will say 1.59 something when I start it
(1b. Start it once and quit. These start-n-quits are probably not necessary but.. :) )
2. Install the 1.60 patch
(2b. Start once and quit...)
3. Install the 1.62 patch
(3b. Start once and quit...)
4. Now you should have the 1.62 release, and can install the lastest 1.62 beta, i.e. "beta patch"

As I hinted, I don't know if GOG:s release is 1.62 already and if so this is of course of little use.. If not, I think this is how it's meant to update Arma II. (The 1.5x to 1.60 patch is 700mb, the beta patch is like 10mb..)

You can download the patches here: Game Updates - Updates - Arma 2 Official Website

Well, hope this is of any help.. or better yet.. that you've gotten it to work a long time ago and I've spent time on this reply unnecessarily ;)
