I added the line

[glide]
...
splash=false

in both "dosbox.conf" as well as "dosbox_ad.conf" and it worked. If one file stile has the line

splash=true

in it it will conflict with each other and force the logo to appear.
Thanks! That worked for me! I had to actually add the line 'splash=false' in the 'doxbox_ad.conf' file.

What's the difference graphically between the software and 3dfx version? I ran both and I can't say I noticed any difference. Also the software version allows you to use shaders, unlike the 3dfx version.
