Is there a way to run Arcanum in a "windowed mode"? I'd like to be able to play it in a window so that I can easily play and do other things at the same time.

You will need to download and install the unofficial patch for windowed mode.

Once installed just right click the shortcut for the game and add -window to the end of the target line make sure to leave a single space between whats already there and -window. The linked site also has a high resolution patch if you want something higher then 800x600.

I downloaded all the patches and stuff but they dont seem to affect the game in any way =/

If your on vista or win7 are you making sure that "run as administrator" is ticked for the game and that you have administrator rights when installing the patch?

I have downloaded and installed the above-mentioned patch. The game seems to run without issue full-screen, but when I attempt to use the -window option Arcanum crashes. It doesn't even get to the intro videos.

I have also attempted to use DXWnd, but that also causes Arcanum to crash instantly.

I'm currently running Windows 7 Ultimate, and have attempted various compatibility settings including running the game itself as administrator.

Can anyone offer assistance? I am a very sad bear.

I'm having the exact same issue. The game immediately crashes when you add -window to the shortcut.

I have the same program. Latest unofficial patch installed. High-Res patch installed. If I add the -window tag to the launcher, it clearly starts up in a window, but immediately crashes.

Windows 7. Have tried to run as admin and all of the compatibility modes.
