Hey everyone, I just bought the game and tried to install the mods. It seems like Im having the same issue as with other retro games like this. (BG, ID, etc.) Whenever I install the widescreen or high resolution patch, the game wont even start anymore, it simply crashes and stays in my task manager until i restart my computer. (not even taskkill in cmd works) Does anyone know about this issue? Please let me know!

Posting system specs might help. It's bit hard to guess what might be the problem when you don't know operating system and hardware we're dealing with. Also is this desktop or laptop and where game is installed as well as mod install order.

Did you use only the Highress-patch or other Mods/Patches too?

I installed it in the order given in the sticky post. Community Fix -> HQ Maps -> HiRes

My specs are:
Win7 Professional 64-bit
Nvidia Geforce GTX 260
Intel Quad Core 2,2ghz/core
4gb RAM

OK I finally figured out what it was, if you are running Avast to protect your computer, disable it for the installation process and make an exclusion for the entire installation folder of the game afterwards. Everything seems to work now, so freaking happy!
