I'm about to start playing Arcanum again and I'd like some info on the ending slides: which way can I get the best ending for the dwarves? I've seen there are a lot of possible endings, and I'd like to get the one where Loghaire is again king, but I also wanted to get him in the party to bring him to the iron clan caves and get Magnus to be a clan chief.
Also, does bringing back king Maximillian have repercussions on the alliance I can broker between Caladon and Tarant or must I let the usurper on the thron to get the both cities to prosper in peace?

This should help you: http://arcanum.wikia.com/wiki/Endings

Nope, this was what confused me in the first place :'(
It's pretty clear to me. For the first question, you just have to convince Loghair to return to the throne. He will be king even if you recruit him later. For the second question, no, bringing back Maximilian won't affect endings for Caladon or Tarant.

Very good then!, thank you.
Another sort of smallish question: what if I wanted to rid the boil of Pollock and Maug? Is there a series of quests to kill them both or should I go on as a private citizen?
You can get quests to kill both of them, but AFAIK working for either of them lowers your alignment, so if you want to play as a good guy you can only kill Maug via quest, offered by Sebastian. Then you can also kill Pollock without any quest, to get rid of his influence in the boil.
