Zuker12: My saves just disappeared for some reason... The only noticeable thing I did was that I turned off UAC on my computer. Now my saves have disappeared... Why did this happen and is there anyway to recover them?
The location of save games will change if UAC is on and if the game is installed to the Program FIles directory. What you should do to fix it is to find out where the saves were being redirected to. There are many threads on the GOG forums about this. Common locations are somewhere in My Documents or in a virtual store location. When you find the files, make backup copies. Then you can turn UAC back off, and copy the saves to the "normal" location in the game folder. You should run the game as admin when you do this, and you might even need to reinstall and make sure the installer is run as admin.
Alternatively, once you have the save game files backed up, just uninstall the game, and reinstall to somewhere OTHER than Program FIles. Then copy the save files back into the game folder and it should work.
