Okay so, I'm trying to play multiplayer with a buddy of mine, and aside from annoyance with not knowing size/str requirements on items, we've noticed that death is completely permanent. You die, you're dead, until someone resurrects you or you quit, lose all your items, and rejoin with your base character.
Is there some way to prevent this? the first time a character can get resurrect is level 15 as the tier 5 spell in the healing tree, either that or spend 11,000 on a scroll, this is completely absurd for adventuring, especially amongst creatures that enjoy critical-raping and stun-locking at random times.
Is there a patch or something for this? Some kind of option to check on? Or maybe just some method of resurrecting I'm not seeing? Because I really really really don't want to build every character as a cleric/_______

Have you checked the server side option for death? I think you can set it to respawn you at a certain place.

As far as I can tell there's no options for respawn in the hosting game section, we've been playing Network simply because the internet servers are down (obviously)
And I've even considered hosting it on a separate server computer and join in on my main computer so if I died I could leave and rejoin, but that doesn't work because you rejoin as your dead corpse until the entire server is reset.
Is there a section I'm missing in the server section?

Has this been resolved? I can't find a way to enable respawning ( google directs me to this thread or three websites that talk about how servers can customize this [ but then neglect to say HOW ] ).
