I have plowed through several of the threads trying some of the fixes people have suggested.
I removed the ddraw.dll file from the Arcanum directory, and it seemed to fix some of the slow down issues when I am in the outdoor environment. Now the slowdown/lag is most prominent when I enter a building or dungeon (with or without a loading screen), and if more than one mob is present or God forbid someone casts a spell...
I changed the Target string to <"C:\GOG Games\Arcanum\Arcanum.exe" -no3d -scrolldist:0 -scrollfps:70> which didn't really do anything that I could tell.
I changed the windows compatibility mode to everything available, the Windows XP compatibility mode seemed to help briefly, but if I change zones, save, or load (manual save/load and quick save/load) the slow down comes back.
Anyone have any other ideas or fixes? I REALLY want to play this game, and I suppose I could suffer through the slow downs, but I must admit it would be much better if it ran at a normal speed.
I am running the GoG version with the Unofficial patch, resolution patch, and HD maps.
My PC specs are as follows:
GPU: GeForce GTX 760
CPU: Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-4670K CPU @3.40GHz
Memory: 8.00GB RAM
Current Resolution: 1920x1200, 59Hz
Driver Version: 355.82
OS: Microsoft Windows 10 Home
