How do I get to the Isle of Despair?

After you meet the dwarf in the mines and report it to Mr. Bates, you need to go to Ashbury and talk to Edward Teach. He is a captain of a ship in the harbour. He will also bring you back to Ashbury after you talked to the dwarf on the island. You can never come back to the island once you left it, so finish all quests there before you leave.
