So I've just installed the game on my windows 7 x64 system, and it's not really starting--it's visible in the task manager, and the screen briefly turns black, along with playing a nanosecond of an audio clip. I have no idea what to do. I've started it as an admin, in multiple compatibility modes and more. any reccomendations?

So I found a solution--you have to check your background applications, and disable...some. I'm not sure of the criteria. For me, it was adobe creative cloud, so if you're a win7 x64 user with that and the same problem as me, cut it. The game runs fine [I think] when steam is active, as well as systemic antivirus protection, dropbox, my driver software, and stuff associated with my alienware. I'm listing these just in case it helps someone else in the future. Best of luck!
