eradicator_z: I got one to work except for some reason the st +2 is not working, I have tried re doing it, I tried writing over a previous working background with -2 to strength. I can make anything but str work. On this machine that has the unofficial patch and the high res patch. but on the machine with neither, it works ok. Could it be the custom patch or any other ideas?

Omikias: Don't mean to Necro this thread, but what guide did you use for custom character background? The ones on GameFAQS.com either require a program I can't find (dead link in the FAQ) or simply do not work.

Hickory: The guide I found on GameFaqs requires a simple text editor to create .mes files, that's all. That is the guide I found, yes. I have not tried this myself, so I cannot tell you anything from personal experience. I was just pointing you to a decent text editor.
