I just got the game and I'm trying to have it so I can walk around and not sprint everywhere, but when I go to the options menu it doesn't save my option to have always run turned off!. All the other options work though...

I had the same thing as well. (Always Run keeps defaulting to On)

What you do is open arcanum.cfg in Notepad. This file is located on game installation folder.

In that file, find this line and set it as below
always run=0

Then .. run game and turn off Always-Run in options, then press NumLock, then your character will walk by default.
