So, Aragami 2 is coming, fine. However it seems nothing has been done about the missing cutscenes on Linux... IIRC, it's possible to get them by reencoding the videos, but at the time this problem alone was enough to discourage me from playing. I think it's about time this problem gets resolved, or am I too impatient ?

Well, I am not sure if you mix versions - but I suppose this is the case - as Aragami 2 is expected to be Windows-only
title - and from my perspective this is the best decisions devs could have made if quality is no more a concern.

Don't get me wrong - I hoped to play the successor - and when seeing Windows and no other icon I reached
out to the devs - but an answer seems to no longer be required (and not expected - for a single customer):

so Aragami 2 seems to be and stays Windows-only:

If one looks at itch.io, there are many devs who know how to program and need less than a week to program a full
Unity game with controller support and available on all 3 paltforms - while a bunch of devs programming
Aragami (1) for three platforms (i.e. having experience) just concentrate on Windows as this is 98% of their market
and are not capable of debugging it - and would be forced to just publish ports as is ... <tiers ...>
I am sorry, but if they can not code, they should not sell games.
And with this percentages why do they use GOG at all - as this is only a small fraction of Steam customers ...
So from my point of view Aragami (1) sold that good that they no longer care about each customer but are just
behind big numbers ... and thus they don't think GNU/Linux or macOS are worth a port.
It is there decision completely ... and it is our decision if we spend money on games of devs with that inclination ...
Keep in mind - even if you are not needing those ports, it costs freedom you have.
And no, Wine/Proton is not a reasonable replacement for a real port.

There are so many broken games for GNU/Linux that I really hope all devs get the message
that under GNU/Linux programs really work - and a system can be up and running for more than a year.
This is not Windows or macOS ... and thus they expect the same quality when the pay for games as they
get when they use free (as an users freedom) games.
I enjoyed Aragami - yes - but such wining devs (after their saying, see above if you can get a better impression)
not capable of writing good code for non-Windows ports but getting good money is no longer acceptable
in my opinion!

So missing cutscenes - sorry - this is no big problem - and I reached out for some devs (not for Aragami) to get the
cutscenes switched off as an option as the really disturbed the action flow ...
But I understand that customers want to have it - like the Editor which is present on Steam ...
What is next - requiring achievements directly visible for everyone via a DRM client?
(And yes, I am Ok if this is just an option for those who want it - customers should count!)

I missed the times of GOG standing for Good Old Games engaging to play games more than
20 years old - currently you are happy if you can play games being 5 years old - maybe a few being about
10 years old ... or having a reasonable campaign:
https://www.gog.com/forum/general/the_fck_drm_initiative_38362
while now they really think the Galaxy client is no DRM - or launchers which install further launchers without ask ...
being able to automatically update games (and thus would be capable to automatically delete them, too) and
yes, if users are informed I have no problem with DRM - but when trying to requiring it (Beta version only
via DRM client) or cause inconvenience (updates several days later on GOG Offline Installer): that's not nice.
And DRM-free is neither Windows nor macOS ... and with OSE games can be supported forever
by communities which is already proven to work quite well ... so guess now what it means to no longer
really support GNU/Linux (look out for old Ubuntu 20.4 LTS as supported OS, for example) ... is this still GOG?

Just my 2ct to what is going on ...
