I keep getting a error message when I load the game, it is as follows:

D3DUtil::BuildAdpatorInfoArray()
num of display modes overflow

Any suggestions?

Well that looks like a Direct3D error. What version of DirectX do you have? You will probably want the latest version of DX9 installed, even if you already have DX10 or DX11, as they are separate and can be installed in parallel. Also, what kind of graphics card do you have? You may want to update your graphics card drivers too.
