I just tried to install Aquqnox 2 and at 97% I get an error "Installation Failed E2. Help!

I had the same problem (using a Windows 11 install) and i found a workaround. I downloaded the "offline backup game installer" from the GOG website.
You can get there by hovering your mouse cursor over your account name on the top of the website select "Games" then the game. A bit below the blue download button is the backup.
I ran the install as admin, maybe you have to do so as well.
