I would perfer that the 2 game stay dead and should never appears on GOG it ruins the mystery and wonder of the first one.

Flashback on the other hand I am interested in.
I'm glad I haven't played Heart of the Alien: Out of This World.
Just see the pathetic death of Lester, and get your own conclusions.

Heart of Alien has been ported to PC!

See here:
http://hota.sourceforge.net/

It is a good news since that way GOG would need only the authorizations from Interplay/Virgin (for Heart of Alien itself), but not from Sega (for the Sega CD bios that is needed in Fusion).

And yeah... Lester dies to save Buddy. Thanks for spoiling it to everyone.

The creator of the first game (Eric Chahi) don't consider HotA to be a real sequel, so you can just ignore Heart of the Alien and pretend it never existed.

Except Fade to Black wasn't really fun to play, and there were too many instances where you'd get killed off immediately :P
Don't get me wrong, I got Fade to Black free on Playstation by buying a couple other games, but still, I was disappointed.
I actually liked it, but I never beat it. I stopped playing in a sort of pyramid and I has a bird fish hybrid in the inventory... At the time I know only a little of English (and I had no Internet), so I might missed something obvious.

Heart of the Alien instead is nice, it is indeed hard and unforgiving.
A friend of mine luckily still had the original CD and I tested the PC port, it works fine.

Leifern: EDIT: If GOG were to add something similar to AW (Flashback has rightfully been mentioned) they should consider "Heart of Darkness"! The brutally underrated Eric Chahi-game from '98. I could never get it to run on PC, but played it on PS1. Brilliant game!

Waltorious: I would also like to see Heart of Darkness here; I've never played it but it sounds good from what I've read about it. Also, for those who don't know, Eric Chahi is working on a new game called From Dust, to be published by Ubisoft, that looks pretty cool. Kind of a Populous vibe, with you being able to mould the landscape to help out some villagers.
Once again, I find myself educated by and agreeing with Waltorious! :-)
Heart of Darkness is a great game.
I'm leery about posting in a topic that's a bit oldish, but there's not many threads that are really new anyways.. and it's still on the first page.

In regards to "From Dust", I found the game to be fun and novel, yet frustrating in ways that're kind of out of your control. You can make the perfect paths for villagers, and they'll be upset about something insignificant (such as a tiny drop of water NEAR the path) and then take a long way around, often dying as a result. Or worse, not doing anything and then getting killed because you took too long making it "worthy" of their crossing.

I really liked the game as a concept, but it felt like it needed work. I was disappointed.
