Hi everyone, I've just bought Another World Anniversary Edition from GOG.com and I'm running Windows 7 32-bit but there seems to be an issue with the sound in the game. When viewing the intro sequence the sound seems to slow and sounds digitised and even in the game the same problems are occuring, it makes the game unplayable.
Does anyone have any idea as to what may be causing this problem or have this problem themselves?

What sound card are you running?

Ralackk: What sound card are you running?

Thanks for your reply Ralackk. It's just your standard Realtek internal chip. I'm running it on a laptop and it's more than capable of running the game.
So basically I'm not getting any support on this problem. And to make it worse I've emailed the support department and I'm not getting a reply, I'm seriously not happy with GOG lately...I think this is going to be my last GOG purchase...

Well gog don't officially support windows 7 yet unless otherwise stated on the games page. Most the time you can get away with it if it works on vista but I guess not with this game. I'm not really sure why the sound would not work myself, I guess you could make sure you have the latest realtek sound drivers installed. Or does the game have any settings files in the games folder or that you can get to from the start menu?

Have you tried the common Vista/7 workarounds yet? Compatibility modes, running as administrator, installing to an unprotected folder and not Program Files (e.g. C:\Games\). Have you tried various video modes to see if this had any impact? Maybe try a windowed mode if possible? I know these are outside chances but I think they are still worth trying.

Reinstalling the game seemed to fix the problems weirdly enough, also just to make sure I've ran the game at a lower res too and it runs fine. One really cool thing about this game is it looks really good with the new high def visuals in any resolution, even 640x480.

I am having the same sound issues on Win7 x74.

The sounds like the black leeches and the black beast don't execute. Even the gun laser sound I can't hear it.

I tried the iPad version and all the sounds are there. How to fix this?
