So I have bought all of the ANNO games on GOG. Is there a "best" order to play them? Play them in release order or some other way? Thanks in advance.

Me personally I would suggest going in release sequence.
Why? To see how the devs did develop. Some people say the first one is the best some are saying.......whatever ;)
So to your so seemingly easy question is no easy answer.....in some the devs did put more stressing on militarily others they downgraded....or more trade? Really depends on your play-style.....sorry for the generic answer ;)
