Would you buy this (GOG Anno version) or the DoD gold on Steam? Same price, and same game from what I have researched. What about multiplayer? Any reason to get Anno or DoD based on MP?

Any other thoughts or just flip a coin?

Well they are literally the same game, and as far as I know not many people play Anno MP (unless I am just out of the loop) so its up to you really.

Both require a Ubi account I think though.

There's still LAN that shouldn't require a uPlay account but that likely means playing with a VPN or other 3rd party tool to play with someone outside of your physical LAN.
